What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique used to promote natural healing which goes back to the 20th century. The term Reiki translates to ‘universal life energy’ and treats the body as a whole on a physical, emotional and spiritual level. Reiki involves the practitioner using various hand positions over the body to help clear blocked energy and restore the natural flow to leave you with a sense of calm, balance and well-being.
As you know, Therapyroom1 believe there are many different ways to heal the body, mind and soul and each one has it’s own merits and possibilities. Many of the practitioners we work with have moved into their chosen fields of healing due to personal circumstances and as far as we are concerned there is no better recommendation than from someone who knows personally how a patient is feeling and what they are going through. They understand your condition better and can empathise with you while explaining the benefits of their treatments and choosing what is the best course for you.
With this in mind we would like to introduce you to Tracey Jones, our newest member of the Therapyroom1 community section of the website.
“My name is Tracey and I was attuned to Reiki level 2 in 2016. In May this year I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and alongside other natural therapies, have used Reiki on a daily basis to help my body to heal. The pain and fatigue that knocked me off my feet 6 months ago have subsided greatly and the brain fog (another symptom of fibromyalgia) has cleared. My body is much more relaxed and I feel more alive than I have done in a very long time. I know that Reiki has contributed massively to the improvement in my health.
Reiki works on the 7 chakras (these are the crown, the 3rd eye, the throat, heart, solar plexus, sacral and root) removing stagnant energy and promoting the free flow of energy through the body. This helps to reduce stress and fatigue, help the body to relax and allow healing to take place naturally. I have helped people who have come to me complaining of menopausal symptoms, fibromyalgia, headaches and stress who all reported an improvement in their overall well being.
Because I am so passionate about the benefits of Reiki I decided that I needed to share my knowledge and experiences. Where better to do this than in purpose built surroundings? With help from family and friends over the last 3 months the Reiki Garden Room was created. This tranquil and calming room promotes a sense of peace which adds to the whole experience of Reiki, and therefore increasing it’s benefits. From the moment you walk through the door you will feel welcomed and put at ease by myself. Treatments can last half an hour or an hour depending on your requirements, and gift vouchers are also available. These make a wonderful present for family and friends to take time out from the stresses of everyday life and to relax and re-balance.”
