I wanted to have this topic on this website for a number of reasons:
- Many people have hand injuries and they just end up settling with permanent discomfort and arthritis.
- We developed some amazing treatments for the thumb, which actually work and you can do at home too.
If you have suffered from strains, sprains, fractures or even neurological conditions of the hand and you have either left it late to rehab or after an operation on your hand this is a great way to get it moving.

Level: Beginner (Early Rehab)
- Place your injured arm on a table, making sure that there is enough room to rest your elbow on it too.
- Thumb should be up so make sure you arm is on its side (little finger on the table)
- Take you good hand and hold the bad thumb between the thumb and FIRST finger of the good hand
- Warning! – we are only moving this a FEW MILLIMETERS
- Gently move the thumb in a straight HORIZONTAL line either towards the other fingers or away from them.
Advancement of Exercise
Slowly start to increase the distance of the thumb away the other fingers and then back towards them.
