Weights: The Squat

This is a very easy exercise to design but hard to do for people who want to lift weights. We use it as a rehabilitation tool for body builders and power-lifters who have suffered lower back injuries, quadriceps strain and calf problems.

Level: Late Stage/Return to sport

Equipment: Gymball,


  • Stand with your feet apart and hold a gymball out in front of you.
  • Slowly squat down to the floor holding the gymball still out in front of you.
  • (make sure that your heels are still touching the ground.)
  • Hold that position for 10-30 seconds.
  • Come up, shake your legs out and walk around for another 30 seconds.
  • Repeat.
